If you have a Windows 7 installation, which usually consists of two partitions (one boot, one system), you need to do a disk->disk clone, from the old HDD to the new SSD. HDClone will let you resize the disc, so the entire content will fit on the SSD. After that, you should be already finished, with the SSD bootable and working.
If the old HDD wasn't S-ATA (and the SSD is S-ATA, which I assume), you need to make sure that the drivers for S-ATA are also loaded on startup. Please upgrade to Version 4.0.4a of HDClone, which does this task on its own. Simply use your license key to download the new version free of charge.
