hdclone stops 75%, then part's not seen by win

Post by Rod » Tue Sep 14, 2010 3:18 pm

Using the basic /W 3.9.4 version disk to image on live windows XP NTFS, 75gb drive, 16gb used. Created 75gb image onto USB NTFS disk.

Restoring image to 60gb SSD the restore stopped @ 75%. I manually stopped, it adjusted the new disk parameters but the part's and fs cannot be seen in disk management.

Also, when using the /S version on same hardware it cannot see the USB disk so I cannot do disk to image on a usb disk with the /S version.

help!

We are working on an update that will hopefully remedy this problem, it has to do with downsizing a partition over a certain degree.

As for the USB drive not being recognized: Here, model and make of the mainboard and the USB enclosure would be of use.

I left it overnight and it completed normally but still appears as unallocated in diskmanager.

When is this update expected? I purchased this SW for a specific purpose, which it does not fulfil, in a specific time frame, which is now unknown. I did the free version tests in Windows to make sure it met your HW requirements. I don't recall reading that /w may see a disk and /s may not, to the contrary the free version is put forward as a compatibility test.

As it is now, I must create the image in my laptop and a restore it to the SSD mounted in my desktop, all because the /s version cannot recognise the usb.

The USB is a WD Elements 500gb, mb is a clevo M660u/670u, usb is a via vt6202/12, windows xp sp2.
