If you did something like Disc->Disc, Partition->Disc, Partition->Partition, Image->Partition or Image->Disc, the result cannot be undone. If you did Disc->Image or Partition->Image, it writes to an existing file system on the target drive, which will not be erased.
Since I assume you wanted to write the contents of the external device to your new PC. What files were on the external device? Was it a complete System image (perhaps created with another session of HDClone)? If it were only backup files (documents, etc.) then there's the operating system missing. If it was a complete system image, it must be that of an entire disc, otherwise the boot area is missing. In this case, create a bootable hard disk (using the control panel > administration > disc management: initialize), make the partitions how you want them and then restore the partition image to the new partition, which now should boot...
