source hard drive not recognised after aborting clone operation

Post by pezzar » Sat Jan 24, 2009 1:08 pm

I tried to clone my maxtor 80GB drive to a new 80GB seagate sata drive. The process was taking a long time and getting what seemed a lot of read errors so i aborted with the intention of trying agian later. I elected not to make changes, i expect the dest drive to be incomplete but upon restart my source drive is not valid and windows set up says it cannot access the drive. I cannot access it as a slave drive on another windows system either. Any way i can get my windows partitions back?

Please write to the support with your inquiry (https://www.miray.de/support/index.php), but do you happen to boot up the system at least once with both drives (the source and the failed copy) attached? If this is the case, windows probably got confused on start up.

HDClone never writes on the source drive any time, so the reason for the partition not recognized must be another.
