i have the same issue. tried twice, hangs at different %.
win xp app, usb drive.
in my case, both the drive lights still kept flashing. everything inside hdclone window froze, no timer change, no button click reaction, no errors before that.

i still let it work through the night to see if it still does the trick, but in the morning, the target disk did not contain a partition.

maybe i'll try a bootable app.

I'll have to look into it. Since it is the Windows Version, it should not be the driver.

What's probably also interesting: what does the message just above the progress bar say: "Copying sectors", "Verifying copied sectors" or something like "Adjusting" or "Resizing"...?

I am having a similar issue. I am using the free edition 3.8 to copy a VHD (9536M) to a larger VHD (11384M) to create more space for some apps I'm playing with. The copy proceeds fine to 67% (sector 13180991) and then stops dead. The underlying host drive has been defragmented and chkdsk'd, as has the sourcedrive. It has been sitting at this state for about 45 minutes. the source and target drive are mounted as drives 2 and 3 on a VM booted with a third disk to avoid any need to read active files.

Please elaborate on your setup, b/c I don't really know how it is set up. Is it running the windows version of HDClone or inside the VM as the self-booting edition? How are the hard disks connected, and are you using the newest version 3.8.4a of HDClone?

Same problem with HD Clone 4. Hangs at 64% at disc copy data. Line above progress bar says "Copying sectors". Dell E6400 laptop. Identical drive in USB bay connected. Copy disc. No VM.

If you press ctrl+alt+f12, you should be able to write a log file to the desktop (when running the windows version) or on a (previously plugged in) USB flash drive (when running the self-booting version). Send the log file to the support, so that the error can be traced.
