Problem HDClone 3.8.3 se

Post by kermit » Wed Dec 30, 2009 4:31 pm

I tried to use hdclone 3.8.3.se. All HDs were discovered, everthing seems to work but unfortunately it stopped working after I clicked the start button. The button itself looked like being pushed, but no action for more than 15 minutes.

I took 3.7.5.se and had no problem. The HD were a Samsung HD400LD (source) and a WD5000AAKB. The hdclone 3.8.3.-iso was made using opensuse 10.3 with Brasero.

Any hints? Thanks in advance.

In this case, try pressing Ctrl+Alt+F8. A command shell should appear. If you enter 'procinfo' (w/o the quotes), you should see if there is a column titled 'E' which has a '1' in front of hdclone.exe. If this is the case, then there's an exception with hdclone, and we'll have to look into this.

In this case, please (again in the command shell) enter 'savelog.en' (again without the quotes), and then you'll be prompted to select a diskette or an usb flash drive, where a log file will be written to containing (hopefully) all information we need to track down the problem.

I am having a similar issue. I am trying to restore an image to a drive and have the exact exception that you have listed above. Is there a way around this or to eliminate it so the program can run. The program just hangs after hitting start with the message "preparing to copy".

These days the new version 3.8.4 will be released which should help with this problem.
