C partition not accessable.

Post by Scott McK » Wed Jul 29, 2009 10:44 pm

After cloning from external USB to internal SATA, can not access the C partition. The recovery partition is ok and visible. No access to C: No error on clone. Both disks are exactly the same size, original is a Segate and new one is a WD.

I can mount on another workstation and see the recovery partition, the C: partition is there, but still not accessible.

Using Partition Magic, I get a Error 501 Cross-linked file...and 1534 Cluster crosslinked or not allocated errors.

Also, Using Standard Edition.

This is more of an issue for the support, not the forum, but still one question: Did you let HDClone resize the destination disk, and did you let HDClone do the automatic adaptions for booting (right after the cloning completes)?

How did you make the copy to the external USB? Running under Windows? In this case, you must have copied without exclusive access (as such is not granted under normal circumstances), thus probably leading to the encountered 'cross-linked file' etc.
