How to de-activate?

Post by Fritzzz » Sat Oct 02, 2021 7:40 am

Hello everybody,
I bought a standard license and created and used a bootable media to create a image.
I had to activate on the usb stick to be able do start the making of the image. Next day i started the program within windows and it said there was 1 activation left.
I wanted to use this software on 2 computers but now i can't because the usb stick and the windows program are both activated for the same computer.
I understand that i should have first activated on the windows install and then make a bootable media to avoid this.
I can not find any info on how to de-activate a license (the one from the usb stick in this case) so i can also use it on another pc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the activation was made for the same computer (under windows and self-booting), it only counts as one, so you have not lost an activation.

If you run setup under windows, and then run uninstall, you can remove the activation. Uninstall *ALWAYS* deactivates the product, even if you ran setup after you have already activated the program.

If the hard disk quits, it’s no problem. Simply replace the hard disk, install HDClone again, and uninstall.

The uninstall will then remove the computer from the activation list (installing on an already activated computer will not change anything).

The activation is bound to the mainboard/cpu, not the hard disk. So unless your mainboard doesn’t break down, you can change hard disks all day long, it will still work.

For special activation reset questions, you’re better of contacting the sales or support department (info@miray.de, support@miray.de).

thanks Alex, but sadly yea this pretty much sucks for a workplace/profession license. no way to control my licenses. support opened a license but if we have 100 computers. I was license HDclone since 3.6 from 2008.. now I have issues.. never had them before. support acted like I've done this before. i sure dont remember it except when I posted like 6 months a.go.

Clonezilla will be replacing this as much as I hate it.
