HDClone 4.0.6 quits in the middle of clone session

I upgraded to HDClone 4.0.6 (hdclone.4.0.6.se.en.zip) on my Win7 Enterprise system. Now when I try to clone one SATA disk to another, after setting the parameters and clicking start copying, the program disappears and is not present in the processes list of the Windows Task Manager. When I try running the program again, I get

Drives C:/D: could not be opened for exclusive read access. Please close all other applications and files. Then click 'Try again'.

I am using the same steps and same configuration that worked under HDClone 4.0.4: Copy Mode > Cloning (copy disk) > Select Source > Select Target > Default Options > Continue without Adjustment > Start > Start Copying

Reboots have not helped. Will return to v4.0.4 unless there is a viable solution.

Please write such a problem to the support, as it will require a special debug build that will write a continuous log file up unto the point where the program terminates. You can simply refer to the forum entry, the support will then know about the issue, you don't have to explain everything again there.
