Good morning.
I have problem with using HDClone 4 on a client's machine - I have a Technician license, so that's all good. What I'm trying to do is copy a RAID1 array (hardware RAID, SATA disks) onto a USB disk so the disks in the array can be upgraded.
The disk boots fine and gets into the main screen, but then nothing works. Both the mouse and keyboard are completely frozen, which renders the software useless. And this is using a PS2 mouse and keyboard, which I found extremely surprising.
Changing to a different m&k did nothing, as did playing with any BIOS settings. The Intel motherboard on the PC is a little old, going back to 2004, but still works perfectly well and the client has no reason to replace it.
I believe I can get around this by using the Windows version of HDClone and copying directly to one of the new disks, then booting from that disk and rebuilding the array from there, but it is still quite disappointing to have the software fail like this, especially after springing for a Technician license. Does anyone have any insights or suggestions?
