Hi

I am unable to use my WD My Passport external USB drive to save HDClone 4.04b Pro images

HDClone can't detect the drives in the system when the 'WD My Passport' is plugged in.

Unfortunately I can't detect the external drive if I plug it in after booting up a system using my HDClone memory key - is there a way to rescan for available drives ?

I tried reformating, repartitioning this external drive, but nothing seems to render it compatible with HDClone

any ideas ?

You can rescan in HDClone by going back to the first screen and then clicking on next again. HDClone will show the text "Searching for drives/devices. One Moment Please" again, and do a total rescan.

If this doesn't help, it might have to do with the external drive, in case it has some special features HDClone doesn't support. In this case, please attach an USB flash drive, and after the drive detection (when the passport drive SHOULD be visible) press Ctrl+Alt+F12 to store log information on the flash drive. Then you can mail the log file to support@miray.de, where the erroneous behavior can be analyzed.

Please observe that there is a new version 4.0.4c that fixes a compatibility issue with NTFS formatted drives which was introduced erroneously in version 4.0.4b.
