HDClone 3.9.2 Pro hangs at 0%

Post by juergen barth » Fri Jun 11, 2010 5:35 pm

Hi,

just bought HD Clone 3.9.2 and tested it under WinPE 3.0 (Win 7).
Seem slow againt Acronis.

So i created the Boot cdrom and tried to create a image from a Lenovo Thinkpad T61.

hdclone starts to anaylze the disc and start to copy to ext. usb disk.
speed test show 34 and 40 MB/s.

But hdclone doesn´t start to copy anything. it sit´s there about 20 Minutes with no progress.

Anything i could do?

Please check within HDClone if the program hangs or only the drivers show no progress. Simply press Ctrl+Alt+F8 to open a console window within HDClone, and enter 'procinfo'. The output should look like this:

[pre]
/emb>procinfo
ID V T Runti Name
65541 0 1 0.07 procinfo.exe
65542 0 7 9.25 shell.exe
65543 0 5 10.92 hdclone.exe
65544 0 1 10.92 svc.sysint.srv
....
[/pre]

It could also read like this:

[pre]
/emb>procinfo
ID V T E Runti Name
65541 0 1 0.07 procinfo.exe
65542 0 7 9.25 shell.exe
65543 0 5 1 10.92 hdclone.exe
65544 0 1 10.92 svc.sysint.srv
....
[/pre]

This means that there's an exception in hdclone.exe. If this is the case, we'll need more information about the disc structure and the file system of the drive in question, but I'll tell you how to gather these once this hunch is confirmed.

It would be helpful if the console window would be larger or if the output could be stop. I can´t read the top of the table output, as it scrolls to fast.

i can read

65540 12044 7 2.28.71 hdclone.exe

but i can´t tell you the columns.

The columns are the following: Process-ID, Memory usage, Threads, Runtime, Program name. This means that there's no exception in the HDClone process, and the problem must lie somewhere else.

Please restart HDClone and execute the speed test on both the source and the destination drive in order to see if both are working with normal speed. If this is the case, then proceed with the program until it stops again. Insert a normal FAT-formatted USB flash drive in the computer and enter on the command line the following command:

savelog.en

This will prompt you with a selection where to save the information, you can then send this log file to support@miray.de
