I used HDClone 3.9 free edition to clone my hard drive. The clone process worked great. But my used space on my target hard drive doubled in size to 442gb. It was 222gb on the source drive. My source hd was a 250 gb drive. My new target drive is a 1 tb. I am using Windows 7 64bit. Both drives, source and target are connected internally with SATA connections. My target drive shows that it has 890 gb.

Although I'm not sure what might cause this, I have a hunch one of the volume bitmaps is not correctly adapted to the new size... It should be possible to rectify this by running checkdisk (chkdsk) on the disc.

Alex you are a genius!!!!!! I fixed it!!!!!! I ran the chkdsk. Found the results in the event viewer. The results told me to fix the disk, so I scheduled chckdsk/f when the computer restarted. And guess what?....it repair the volume. What relief. I really like HDClone. I highly recommend this program for cloning. It is easy to use. And you can run it at night while you are sleeping. Thank you Alex!
