Problem with HDClone 3.8.3 Basic Edition

I have copied the Hard disk of my notebook Dell XPS M1210 with Windows XP to another hard disk much more wide. The old one is 120GB, the new one is 500GB.
Both disks are SATA; the new one is SEAGATE.
I used HDClone stand alone and the function disk to disk using an USB 2.0 connection for the target disk.
The copy was fine; the big problem was that, after copying, the new disk became equal to the old one: 120 GB instead than 500 GB. I am not able to find the unused space using several methods, like also Norton Partition Magic.
What can I do?
Any suggestion is well accepted.
Many thanks in advance
Peppe

During copy, did you use the auto expand (resize) feature of HDClone.

It might be that the disk has a HPA active (host protected area), which clips the size of the disc to a certain amount (in your case probably 120GB).

At http://www.hdat2.com/ you can get a program which removes this protection and enables to you use all the 500GB of the entire disc.
