System: Dell Dimension 3100 Windows XP
Have used 3.8 to clone my 80gb to WD640gb and it appears all files are there, did auto adjust when asked at end of closne - disconnected and replaced 80gb disc with WD640gb using original SAT cable and power - when I start up I get message 'Loading PBR for descriptor 2' - how do I get it to recognise the new disc. WIll you explain in reasonably basic terms please ??:)

As far as I can tell from my current point of knowledge, the Dell Boot mechanism works a bit different than the usual PC boot mechanism. Apparently, of the three partitions always present with a Dell system, the 2nd cannot be accessed, as there seems to be a mismatch of some sort.

It would be interesting to know what the results are if you don't do any automatic adjustment, simply leaving it to "no adjustment", but keep the automatic resize.
