hi,

i used the hdclone (a number of times as ithought i was doing something wrong)

i have partition a new 320gb drive in FAT32 using swissknife v3, 90gb for OS etc and the rest for storage...

it has finished and coppied succesfully, but when i select the e drive to view the files it has coppied it says it is not formatted??

any ideas??

i need this drive to be bootable as it will be replacing my current HD

thanks

How did you make the copy? Disc->Disc or single Partition->Partition copies?
In the Disc->Disc case the copy should boot, as all partitions are copied with the MBR intact, and the last partition is resized to the maximum number of sectors.

If you did Partition->Partition, the MBR is missing, and therefore no booting is possible. To adapt different sizes of Parititons, you should proceed as follows:

copy disc->disc and stop after a few sectors, then partition the new drive (which is now bootable, but with no data) to the said 90GB OS, rest Data, and then copy the OS partition with resize, and lastly the Data partition with resize.
