HDClone 3.2 on USB2.0

I just go HDClone 3.2 Basic Edition to clone a complete drive on my laptop. I have USB 2.0 support PCMCIA card. When I connect the target drive (in an external USB2.0 case) into this card, it does not show up in HDClone. Only the internal IDE drive (source) shows up. When I connect the drive into the on-board USB1.1 port both the internal IDE and external USB drives show up, but the transfer of 30GB through USB1.1 is extremely slow: 10 hours for the complete drive.

1- Is this a limitation of HDClone 3.2 Basic Edition ?
2- If it is a limitation, where is it indicated (before I buy the software on the web site)

PCMCIA card support is still experimental and is not advertised. Before you buy the software on the web site we state

" Please use the Free Edition to find out if a certain PC system and its hard disks or other media are supported. It shows all supported and recognized drives, but some of them may only be usable with one of the higher editions." (http://www.miray.de/products/sat.hdclone.html)

If you got the newest version (3.2.10), you might wanna try pressing the 'C' key on startup (when "Starting Symobi ..." is displayed. This activates the expermental support for PCMCIA cards and should present you with your USB 2.0 adapter. If you have still no luck, please contact our support for more info.

Thanks for the fast reply. My fault for not reading the "not-so-fine print". It was 3:00AM after all when I purchased the software, after trying different freewares without success. I ended up being able to copy 30GB in 10 hours via USB 1.1 with HDClone!!

I tried the Exprimental PCMCIA support without success. I got the message "safemode selections: -use cardbus" after pressing the 'C' key on startup, but unfortunately my hard disk was not detected. I am using the following hardware:

- Hewlett Packard XF328 Laptop
- Mobile AMD Athlon XP 1800+ (1500GHz)
- 1 GB RAM
- Fujitsu MHR2030AT 30GB HDD on
- IBM/Hitachi IC25N030 ATCS04-0 30 GB HDD on USP2.0 PCMCIA card- DYNEX USB 2.0 LAPTOP USB PCMCIA CARD L-312CB DX-UC202 (NEC Chipset)
- O2Micro OZ6912/711E0 Cardbus/SmartCardBus Controller (PCMCIA)

1- Are you planning full PCMCIA support in the future ?
2- Is it possible to upgrade to HDClone Standard from Basic without paying the full price. I will need USB2.0 if you implement full PCMCIA support

Thanks !
