I've noticed that the HDC4.02 doesn't appear to recognize volumes mounted by truecrypt - is this a fundamental issue or something that might get fixed someday?

I assume you mean HDClone running with Windows, not the standalone version.

With the standalone version, the partition or hard disk is of course encrypted, therefore no file systems can be recognized.

Within Windows, currently this also makes problems, as the decrypted drives are show to the system in a non-standard manner, and therefore HDClone will have to be adapted to this new system. We'll have a look for it then we're overhauling the Windows subsystem for HDClone, a task that is planned for the first half of this year. Hopefully, we'll know more about it in the summer.
