Drive to Partition problem with HDClone 3.8.5

Post by memi205 » Sat Nov 06, 2010 7:25 am

I have 2 disks in my pc (Windows XP).
The first one is the main disk C: 500GB
The second is a larger one with 2 formated partitions of 500GB. (R: and S:)

Basicly, I want to be able to :
1) Copy the drive C: to the partition R:
2) Delete some files on R: with Windows Explorer (to make a smaller image)
3) Make an image of R:

So, I use to copy. The copy works great.

But, after the copy, I no longer see R: in Windows Explorer.

How to keep the letter R: of this partition to let me delete some files with
Windows Explorer ?

Thank's !

This is very easy: if you use drive to partition, you clone everything from the start of the disc to the partition. Windows doesn't expect to find a partition table inside a partition and therefore bails out.

Use partition->partition, and you should be fine.
