I have a similar problem:

So as i understood right--It schould then also be possible to copy a 250GB bootable/System Sata disk containing Windows x64 system to a partition (NTFS) ~480 Gbyte of 1000 Gbyte with bit by bit copy, disabled smartImage and copy free areas option to make the copied disk working like the 250Gbyte system disk (if this copied disk is the only disk after system restart).
So far a copy is not the problem but no bootability.

If you copy with disk->disk, the boot area will be transferred. But in this case, the previous data on the disk will not be accessible any more. If you want to simply copy the contents of the 250GB system to the 480gb partition, you'd use Partition->Partition, but in this case, the boot information are missing. So you'd need a hybrid, which copies the partition and the boot information; although HDClone could do this, there's currently no way of telling HDClone via the user interface; If it is possible, you should use disk -> disk, and just before the start of the copying, you can resize the 250GB partition the desired 480GB. After the copy, you can create another partition at the end of the disk with the remaining ~500GB. This of course requires that no information is stored on the disk before that, because it will not be accessible anymore.
