Hi,

Is there a 64bit native HDClone version? i would like to start HDClone on a 64bit WinPE booted in EFI mode.

Reason is that the local machine has a 64bit only CPU and therefore cannot emulate 32bit. Hope this makes sence

Thank you in advance

Sorry, there is no 64 bit version, as this would require a completely different package, and is not yet planned for at all.

About your WinPE: There are methods using the AIK to add the 32bit layer to Windows PE, so your PE will then be able to run the 32bit HDClone.
That layer is called the Win32OnWin64 (WoW64) layer.

Hi. Can you please provide some details on how to use the AIK to add the 32 bit layer to Windows PE? I've been combing the web and not having much success.

We need to boot with WinPE 64-bit to support our SecureBoot UEFI BIOS, so we're pretty blocked until we can either get WoW64 working on WinPE or can get a 64-bit binary of HDClone. Any guidance you could give would be much appreciated. Thanks!

HDClone is capable to work under WinPE environments, even 64 bit. In that case, it's required to creat a Windows PE with a WoW64 subsystem, which will allow you to start 32 bit applications in your 64 bit Windows PE.

The easiest way to create such a Windows PE with WoW64 is the use of PE uilder. Please also refer to chapter 5.3.2 Windows PE in the user's manual (PDF). We'll extend this chapter in the next revision by the following paragraph, which should explain what to do for creating a 64-bit Windows PE including WoW64:

When using a 64 bit Windows PE (x64), HDClone as a 32 bit application requires the WoW64 subsystem. In order to ensure this to be included with the Windows PE image, select the
"Build" -> "5 - WoW64 Basic"
option on the left side in Builder.

With a Windows PE created this way, you will be able to launch HDClone from within WinPE 64 bit.
